Self-Love Club

Julie Boudet, fondatrice Le Self-Love Club

The Self-Love Club (which bears the name of a passion born from a late-night brainstorming session in December, during which Julie, surrounded by her sisters at the foot of a Toulouse sofa, promises an incredible company name, perfectly in line with her vision and the activities she will learn there, and which will reveal over time a host of the most brilliant people in the world, and Julie then decides to represent all those who are available to present themselves internationally) is a place where style and advice are concentrated, relying on the strengths of the image of the Spanish capital and presenting itself internationally.

The club where the image lies at the crossroads of

FASHION, PSYCHOLOGY & SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT

This project lasted over 10 years and was ready for Julie’s inner circle. A great lover of people and fashion, but especially of imagery, Julie loves images that function as a tool for expression, colorful or not, bold or understated, but always as a path to freedom and authenticity.

It is there, after several years of ultra-rich and comprehensive training (with modules such as: history of fashion from prehistory to the present day, including the basics of cosmetic chemistry, or courses on verbal communication and elements of speech therapy – voice placement etc., among others), that Julie combines her Spanish BTS in image consulting with training in psychology applied to personal image.

Finally, the launch of the Self-Love Club was in early 2022, a club where image lies at the intersection of fashion, psychology and social commitment, with a profoundly human, inclusive and non-normative approach.

If she was…

a fashion red flag

If I were a red-flag in fashion, I would be… the fact of having red-flags in fashion! I deeply believe in the absurdity of rules in fashion and image when they allow us to have fun and be who we are. Yes, the brain has ways of operating and perceiving things as harmonious or not, and we can absolutely use them as tools to show the brain what WE want to show it. But this is the Self-Love Club, baby. The one where you wear what makes YOU happy!

a fashion accessory

If I were a fashion accessory, I would be… without hesitation, a bandana. What has always fascinated me about this age-old garment, with its diverse and somewhat ambiguous origins, is how proudly it's worn as a powerful symbol of identity and belonging by incredibly varied groups. From cowboys to rappers, punk bands to farmers, bikers, and even fashion enthusiasts. The bandana reminds me that we can all be equal and beautiful in our own unique way, regardless of our style. And to take it a step further, regardless of our appearance, skin color, body shape, disabilities, gender, or sexual orientation. Be your unique self, baby ❤️

a piece of clothing

If I were an item of clothing… I’d definitely be colorful, full of sequins and/or ruffles (never too much). And in reality, probably mega oversized and short. A totally unconventional and carefree dress… just like me!

a song

If I were a song, I would be… A good old Black Eyed Peas track, let's say: One Tribe. A tribe, a people. I love humanity and the planet I live on, which allows me to have this incredible experience. I would be a song that says all human beings who inhabit this world should be treated with respect in their private lives, but also in the workplace. I support local businesses, which assure me that the people on the other side of the supply chain are treated equally—as they deserve—and that the planet is treated a little better too.

a teacher's style

First off, I'd obviously be a super cool teacher, but more importantly, captivating and inspiring. I'd be a teacher who makes sure students learn by doing and through practice! I'd explain everything in minute detail, like all the physical phenomena and the role of wavelengths in colorimetry testing, for example, why Lidl clothing became so popular in the French fashion scene and the whole story behind it. And I'd be a teacher who adapts to students and their specific learning needs when different formats are required. Oh! And of course, I'd be a teacher they call by my first name and who constantly encourages them with such kindness. (Truly the dream teacher I needed when I was younger 😭)
